Fundación TECNALIA Research & Innovation (www.tecnalia.com) is a private, independent, nonprofit applied research centre of international excellence. TECNALIA is the leading private and independent research and technology organisation in Spain and one of the largest in Europe, employing around 1,300 people (280 PhDs) and with an income of 108 Million € in 2019.
TECNALIA has one goal: to transform technology into GDP, meaning wealth to improve people’s quality of life through generation of business opportunities for industry. TECNALIA is committed to generate major impacts in economic terms, by means of innovation and technological development, addressed by seven business divisions covering the economic sectors of Energy, Environment, Industry, Transport, Construction, Health and ICT. The Health Division of TECNALIA co-leads the Spanish working group in Regenerative Medicine, and is part of the excellence group of the Health Ministry, called CIBER-BBN (Centros de Investigación Biomédica en Red – Bioingeniería, Biomateriales y Nanomedicina).
TECNALIA is the coordinator of the TACTILITY project and leads work package 7. TECNALIA is a global leader in design and development of multi-pad electrodes, which a key technology in the innovative interactive solution that will be developed in TACTILITY project. TECNALIA is responsible for the integration and technical validation of the TACTILITY prototypes. Furthermore, it has a leading role in hardware development of the electrotactile stimulation system , and contributes to several tasks in other WPs.
